About Roger Stringfield
Roger was born in the Waikato, along with 2 brothers and 1 sister, on a sheep and beef farm. His schooling was at St Paul Collegiate Boarding School in Hamilton and he went on to Waikato University where he completed a Bachelors degree, majoring in marketing. He subsequently worked for several companies in a marketing capacity before deciding he wanted more control over lifestyle and income.
Real Estate provided the ideal solution. He joined Scholes Oakley Ltd in December 1982 and became successful. He went on to obtain his MREINZ qualifications and became Manager of the Mt Eden branch of Main Realty (previously Scholes Oakley). This 8 year stint was an enjoyable and rewarding period. The intent was to buy the office, however it was sold to Century 21, a connection Roger did not pursue.
In 1998 Roger joined U.P. The style, work ethic and large degree of autonomy appealed and in many ways were familiar as Roger had previously worked with Barry and Grant the Principals.
